What does a fertility planning visit include?

Fertility planning visits are a chance for clients to identify their fertility goals and make a plan for conception. These visits typically include a review of a person’s fertility data or education about how to chart and interpret one’s fertility cycle. We will discuss supplementation, laboratory and genetic testing, timing of pregnancy, and pre-existing health concerns and their impacts on conception and pregnancy, and any other questions you have about conceiving.

How can insemination happen at home?

People choosing insemination can have IUI or ICI done in their own home. A visit is scheduled to review history, assess fertility patterns, and explore options for conception. Once we have established a pattern of fertility we work together to create a plan for conception. This includes discussing options for acquiring sperm. The sperm is washed, if necessary, and a catheter is used to place the sperm either in the cervix or in the uterus. This process can all happen at home and is timed to coordinate with the client’s fertile window.

How much does fertility planning or insemination cost?

Fertility planning visits are billed at $180 per initial visit and $120 for follow up visits. Before scheduling an IUI or ICI a client schedules an initial fertility planning visit. Fees for insemination include a 48 hour on-call period around ovulation and are as follows:

Intracervical Insemination - $275 per insemination

Intrauterine Insemination - $325 per insemination

Sperm washing - $160

Will insurance pay for insemination?

Insurance coverage varies. If you are considering insemination services contact your insurance company for more details. If your insurance does cover fertility planning and insemination services claims can be submitted to your insurance company.
